Christopher J. “Jake” Gray

Estate Planning, Administration, and Litigation

I joined Burt Langley in 2025 after almost 15 years of service as an attorney for the Federal government.  Over the years, I engaged in major policy implementation, federal court litigation, federal administrative proceedings, complex real estate transactions, and many other adventures, in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Atlanta.  My wife and I moved to Western North Carolina in 2021 for a quieter life, and after our daughter was born in 2023, I realized it was time to make a shift to a law practice where I could really help families one-on-one in confronting, and solving, real life problems.

My stepfather was an estate planning and estate administration attorney for almost 50 years and I vividly remember all of his simple, no-nonsense solutions to complex estate issues.  When I met the team at Burt Langley, I knew that their approach of providing individualized attention and tailored solutions was a perfect fit.  Estate planning and estate administration is not a one-size-fits-all practice area.  I take great pride in helping you come up with the best plan for you, from the most basic will to the most complex trust.  You’ve spent a lifetime building your assets; we’re here to help get them where you want them.

In my spare time, you’ll find me with my family, in my woodshop, or on my tractor.
